[Hong Kong Toy Conference 2023] Plotting Toy Market's Future – From Digital, eCommerce to NFTs
Yoyo Ng, General Manager of iClick, was invited by HKTDC as one of the panel speakers at Hong Kong Toy Conference 2023 to discuss how ecommerce is shaping the future of the toy industry and how iClick’s proprietary #omnichannel marketing platform helps brands achieve data-driven marketing automation objectives. As the first overseas Platinum Partner of Tencent IBG, iClick utilizes its marketing API data to enhance Chinese user insights with precise audience targeting via different media mixes.
Key takeaways from the sharing session:
1. According to iClick’s proprietary marketing intelligence platform – iAudience, about 202 million Chinese audiences are interested in online gaming or related content. The majority of them are aged 25-34 and live in the GZ province, followed by Hainan and Jiangsu.
2. Majority of Audience browsed for “Game Guides”, “Walkthroughs” and “Online Games”. Popular search terms include “Game of Thrones”, “A Song of Ice and Fire”, “Nintendo”, “World of Warcraft” and “Board Games”.
3. The revenue for Toys and Games industry in 2023 is estimated to hit EUR53.2 billion in 2023 while China is the #1 revenue generator globally. The market is expected to grow annually by 5.81%, brands are increasingly using online promotion channels to reach a wider target audience and increase their share of voice.
4. In the next few years, the average revenue per capita is expected to grow by 3-4% each year, and we will see more promotions from online channels than offline.
